Indian car manufacturers and The automobile industry are working on Make In India mission of electric cars and vehicles under the flagship of the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan by the Government of India. The electric vehicle industry in India will manufacture more electric cars, electric three-wheelers, and electric bikes over the next two decades.

National Electric Mobility Mission Plan has been launched in 2013 to promote electric and hybrid vehicles in the country with a target to reduce liquid fuel consumption and aim the sales of electric vehicles in India.
